To speak kind words of hope and cheer
To those cast down with care and fear;
To check the frowns that only mar
And leave upon our brow their scar.
Our trivial ills will come to noughtIf other's sorrows claim our thought.
Today is ours to boldly dare
To meet our justice and be fair
In all our dealings--all we say.
Now is our hour, now our day.
Only today we call our own;
Today is ours, and today alone.
