Too Busy

(Lessons from Martha)
"And Jesus answered and said unto her Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:
But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her." Luke 10:41-42

Are you busy?
It's good to be busy.
But its not good to be too busy.
Martha was too busy to have time to spend with Jesus--time to sit at His feet and learn from Him.
She was busy doing good things---she was serving Jesus.
But Jesus told her she was busy doing unnecessary things. They were good but unnecessary.
She was too busy to do what was most important.
That's when you know you're too busy.

Are you like Martha?
Do you miss time with the LORD because you are too busy?
I remember a lady telling me, "I don't have time to read the Bible." But I noticed she had time to read the newspaper. Which one is more important?

Do you have time to read the Bible? Time to pray? Time to think about what you are reading?
Or are you too busy?
If you are too busy, then you are exactly that---too busy!
There must be unnecessary things you are doing that could be cut out. Things that may be good but just not important. Maybe you are busy doing things for God. But remember spending time with God is more important than doing things for Him.
If you have time to read novels, watch movies, and go on facebook, guess what? You have time to read the Bible!
If you struggle with reading your Bible, try the tips I suggested in my post here.

Don't be too busy to spend time with God.
