Rare and Precious

(Thoughts on Proverbs 31)

Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

Proverbs 31:10

A few words to describe virtuous is...
    pure, commendable, respectable, honorable,  decent, trustworthy, irreproachable, righteous, good, moral, upright, upstanding, godly, admirable, praiseworthy.

The rest of the chapter also describes what a virtuous woman looks like!

*Virtuous women are hard to find. 

That means they're not the norm. They're rare. Have you ever thought about that before? That if you want to be a virtuous woman you might have to be a little different? I don't mean strange. But if something is rare, then it's obviously not the same as everything else. It is out of the ordinary, uncommon and may even seem unusual.

Are you willing to be a little different? Would you rather be like everyone else or would you rather be like Jesus? It's not possible to be both.

*Virtuous women are very valuable and precious.

Good character is worth a lot. It's value is far above rubies. 

Is it valuable to you? Or is being pretty, popular, slim and in fashion more valuable in your eyes? What do you spend the most time  and energy on? Is inner beauty or outer beauty more important to you?
