3. We have to experience God's comfort to be able to share it.
...Who comforteth us in all our tribulations, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. 2 Corinthians 1:4
We are to share the comfort that God has given us. We need to know it for ourselves first. We can't share what we don't have!
How can we experience God's comfort for ourselves? By turning to God in all our troubles. And not just in our troubles, but in everything. Also by being in God's Word and making it our own. It is often His Word that brings us comfort.
